Lexis offers the perfect program for families wanting to learn English together while experiencing life in Canada's most exciting city. Our Parent and Child Program provides daily classroom instruction for all family members, followed by informal and fun English learning in the afternoon, evenings, and on weekends.
Location
Lexis is located at Toronto's Seneca College. Our dormitory, classrooms, cafeteria, kitchen, and recreation facilities are all located on campus. Located at Finch Avenue and Don Mills Road. Seneca is only a short bus ride to Toronto major attractions.
English Instruction
Students in the Family Program are grouped according to age and ability. Lexis hires certified, experienced English teachers, using the most modern methods. Our programs are designed so that students become confident speakers, readers and writers of English. This learning continues after class as students from different countries speak to one another while visiting Toronto's most exciting attractions. Dormitory students continue to learn English through evening activities on campus; families in homestay can practice English with their Canadian hosts.
Lexis Excursions
During the afternoon, the City becomes our classroom as family members go bicycling on Toronto Island, take the elevator up the world-famous CN Tower, watch polar bears at the Toronto Zoo, paddle canoes in Toronto Harbour, and visit the Skydome for a Toronto Blue Jays major league baseball game.
Weekend trips include Niagara Falls, where families take a tramcar ride high above the Falls for a spectacular look down, and go aboard the Maid of the Mist for a breathtaking boat ride to the edge of the Falls. Other full-day destinations include Canada's Wonderland amusement park, Marineland and Wasaga Beach.
Accommodation and Meals
Our dormitory suites are perfect for families. Lexis families enjoy individual suites in our modern dormitory. Each dormitory suite contains two bedrooms, each with a double bed, high-speed internet, telephone and television. Each suite has its own washroom, shower and kitchen. Families can choose to have an individual room for each family member or can have two or three in a room.
Most meals are taken in the college cafeteria or large Lexis kitchen. We also have our own barbecues, picnics, and occasional restaurant meals.
A convenience store is located in the dormitory so that students can purchase low-cost snacks and drinks for their room fridge.Lexis provides three full meals daily.
Free Time for Adults
Each week, we schedule one afternoon and one evening when adults can explore Toronto while their children are cared for by Lexis staff at the Seneca dormitory.
